About Roast My Strava
A free AI roast of your Strava, built by one runner over a weekend and used by more than 100,000 athletes.
Roast My Strava connects to your Strava account and uses AI to roast your training: your profile, a single activity, your month or your year. It also writes titles for activities still called Morning Run. It is free, and what it reads from your account is only shown to you.
Jason Kuperberg, a software engineer and runner in New York, built the first version over a weekend in September 2024. It spread through shared screenshots. In 2025 Strava named it an App of the Year at the Strava Developer Summit, and that December athletes posting their roasted year in review carried it past 100,000 users, with the United States and the United Kingdom the largest. It is still run by one person (and multiple AI assistants).

Questions people ask
Who made Roast My Strava?
Jason Kuperberg, a software engineer and runner in New York City. It is a one-person project.
How does it work?
You log in with Strava. The app reads your profile, stats and activities through the Strava API and a language model writes the roast or the title. Nothing is posted to Strava unless you press a button that says so, and you can revoke access at any time in your Strava settings.
Is it free?
Yes. Jason pays for the AI himself, so there is a daily limit on roasts and titles. If you hit it, come back tomorrow. Or share your roast with friends or post it, send Jason the proof, and ask for a higher daily limit.
Is it affiliated with Strava?
No. It is an independent app built on the official Strava API.
